Meet the Team

Hello and welcome to Sharon Baddeley Jewellery. I design and handcraft silver jewellery, and often incorporate  beautiful gemstones and 24 carat gold foil in my designs.

Sharon Designer & Maker

Hi, I'm Sharon and I design and handcraft silver jewellery from my home studio in Cheshire. I'm also incredibly lucky to also be able to use a studio space in a gorgeous woodland, surrounded by nature and birdsong.

I find inspiration in lots of places, especially from  landscapes, the sea and huge open skies. I'm also interested in and influenced by our effect on the natural world and how we view it and use it.

I love serene and minimal designs and am often influenced by time spent living in Yorkshire and in Denmark as well as many happy holidays in Scotland. I love nothing more that a moody atmospheric sky or seacape.

Lulu Studio Assistant

Lovely Lulu is my wonderful Studio Assistant. She likes to shred boxes ready for recyling, is in charge of the lunchtime exercise routine and enjoys a nice afternoon snooze.

Ethos

I aim to work as sustainably as I can and am working to improve wherever possible. My practices include:

  • Using 100% recycled silver to make my pieces
  • Using suppliers who buy from ethical sources.
  • Including found materials such as sea glass and pottery in some of my work
  • Melting and reusing my silver scraps
  • Eco range presentation boxes made from card which comes from FSC Certified Forests
  • Recyclable packaging for sending your beautiful jewellery to you

My Story

Having loved jewellery since I was old enough to look through my mum's jewellery box with fascination and to borrow her amethyst silver locket, I've always loved unusual and unique pieces. At craft fairs and shows, I've constantly been drawn towards the jewellery stalls and listened entranced as crafts people described the inspiration and processes behind their work.

I studied sciences when I was younger, but found that I kept trying to find ways to bring creative pursuits and study into my life. This led to me returning to study and gain a Foundation Degree in Contemporary Photography as a mature student. I loved this and learnt lots about form, colour, processes, film and digital techniques - not to mention learning a lot about myself!

I started my own jewellery making journey when I attended a water cast silver jewellery workshop and I was immediately hooked. I then started lessons at The Cheshire School of Jewellery and now have annual membership to the Jewellers' Academy. This year I was proud to register my own Makers Mark with the London Assay Office.
